Many people suffer from health conditions which they can easily prevent,alleviate or cure with the right information.The visit to the doctor can be avoid or more seriously to the operating table,if adjustments and changes are made in daily nutrition.This could mean the inclusion of one vegetable in a salad,or soup or perhaps a great summer fruit shake to take advantage of the nutritional benefits.We are what we eat and the first step is knowledge then the decision to take back our health back in our control.Please be aware that this list is not meant to be a prescription or definite cure.Try these food cures along with your doctor's advice,especially if you have an existing chronic condition or have family history of some of the conditions mentioned.

Types of ailments and their remedies

If the ailment is a headache then:

  • Eat lots of fish.Fish has many oils which help to prevent headaches.
  • The other nutrient which will help is ginger which will reduce the inflammation and the pain.

If the ailment is a fever then:

  • Eat lots of yoghurt before the pollination season
  • Eat honey daily.Note to choose honey especially produced in the region.

To reduce the incidence of a stroke:

  • Drink green tea regularly.The consumtion of green tea prevents the accumulation of fats in the artery walls.In fact green tea reduces appetite and hence overweight.
  • Green tea is excellent for the immune system.

To get rid of insomnia:

  • Honey is an phenomenal tranqullizer and sedative.The best of all is the fact that its all natural.

To alleviate athsma then:

  • Eat onion which helps to release the compression of the bronchi.In fact there are home-remedies which employ the use of cataplasms or pultices by placing them on the chest of an ashtma sufferer to ease the respiratory condition.

To prevent athritis then:

  • Eat fish.In particular salmon,tuna and sardines are excellent in the prevention of arthritis.Fish in general contains omega 3 which is great for the immune system.

To treat an upset stomach:

  • Eat bananas which can quickly soothe an upset stomach.
  • Eat ginger to cure morning sickness and nausea.

To treat a bladder infection:

  • The high gastric acid in blueberry controls the harmful bacteria.

The care of bones:

  • Eat pineapples.Bone fractures and osteoporosis can be prevented through the consumption of manganese found in pineapples.

To improve the memory:

  • Eat oysters.Oysters help to improve the brain function linked with the memory due to its zinc content.

To treat colds and flus.

  • Eat garlic.Garlic is a marvellous decongestant of the paranasal cavities,not to mention that it helps to reduce cholesterol.

To treat coughs.

  • Consume paprika which is a substance similar to those used in cough syrups.Paprikas must be consumed in moderation because they can potentially irritate the stomach.

To prevent breast cancer then:

  • Eat wheat,bran and cabbage.These three foods help to maintain the levels of oestrogen at healthy levels.
